Dubai Rotating Skyscraper - Innovation at Its Best

William King asked:

Given the number of stunning, almost miraculous constructions going on in Dubai, it’s hard to single out one which outdoes others in its novelty, magnificence and uniqueness.

Talking of uniqueness? What about the first digital building of the world? What about a mega structure building being assembled at factory? How would you like some apartment with the ability to make whole deck rotate on touch of your finger? It’s big, it’s stunning, and it’s spectacular. It’s the first wind powered rotating sky scrapper of the world.

With the names like Infinity Design, LERA, Bosch Rexroth and Viega associated to the project, Dynamic Constructions is set to begin the work on this rotating sky scraper in Dubai very soon.

Construction:

Construction work will be completed simultaneously, while putting up the center of the building on-site, floors will be manufactured at a factory, before being carried to the location where they will be elevated and positioned with concrete center. This advance method will prove to be both time saving and cost effective. According to Dynamic Constructions, only 90 workers will be needed on-site. Compare this to more then 2000 workers normally required to build this kind of structures, and you will know the difference. Building the center and floors separately, but at the same time will result in a lot more swift completion of the project.

Rotation:

This is what makes this skyscraper truly phenomenal. Each deck of this Dubai skyscraper can rotate independently, giving the skyscraper a new shape and a new dimension every moment, making the building a visual treat. These floors will be remote controlled with residents having the option to decide on the speed and direction of their liking. What’s more? Top five floors would be controlled through voice activated remote controls.

Wind Powered:

Wind energy is the power generated by wind through wind turbines. This process is clean and it doesn’t produce any type of air pollution. Dubai rotating skyscraper will have wind turbines placed within its structure. These turbines are capable of generating more energy then what is needed for expected energy consumption of skyscraper. Thus providing loads of energy back into Dubai energy grid.

Another Rotating Skyscraper:

Lots of people are confusing this wind powered rotating skyscraper designed by David Fisher with another building designed by Glenn Howells Architects. That tower will actually rotate on its base and it comes no way near to the grandeur of David Fisher’s rotating skyscraper.

Skyscrapers and Royales with Cheese in Cape Town

Kobus Van Der Merwe asked:

The modern Hamburger is believed to be an American invention inspired by the “Hamburg steak” which sailors brought with them from Germany – a type of meatball, which was popular in this European port city.

With a steady rise in the amount of ‘gourmet burgers’ that appear on restaurant menu’s lately, the days of bland patties and soggy tomato on stale bread rolls, fortunately seem to be over.

In Cape Town, the gourmet burger is almost enjoying celebrity status and can even be found on menus across the city.

But what makes a good burger? In my opinion the patty – preferably medium rare and flavourful - probably plays the most pivotal role, although various other ingredients are essential too. One that should definitely not be undervalued, is the hamburger roll: it should be fresh and soft but sturdy enough to support the patty and it’s trimmings, and be topped with lightly toasted sesame seeds. And then there’s the toppings which can include anything from the classic onion rings and tomato sauce, to chutney, mushrooms, guacamole, sour cream, bacon or a variety of cheeses.

At the quirky Royale in Long Street, a wide variety of gourmet burgers are served in such inspiring variations as ostrich patties with beetroot relish, chicken ****** with brie and cranberries, or even the plain ‘Royale’ with caramelised onions and garlic aioli. The house speciality of sweet potato chips served with sour cream and chili jam adds a delicious twist.

The meanest burger on the menu at the trendy Cafe Caprice in Camps Bay, is also called a ‘Royale’, but here it’s done with bacon, cheddar, chilli and onion rings – with an added bonus of consistently good looking clientèle and beautiful sunsets.

Opposite the swishy Metropole hotel, in lower Long Street, is the retro but sleek Gourmet Burger where the name says it all. And it’s the perfect spot to sit and watch Long Street’s cosmopolitan inhabitants stroll by.

In the heart of De Waterkant village in Greenpoint, the cosy Cafe Manhattan serves a deliciously straightforward ’skyscraper’ cheese burger, while in downtown Sea Point, Saul’s Saloon boast the biggest burgers in town. Not Cape Town’s most gourmet burger…and probably best enjoyed in the early hours of the morning, when your stomach desperately needs something to absorb those numerous beers.

But if it’s a classic burger you’re after, don’t despair, they are still around. At the popular Spur steak ranches deliciously smoky char-grilled beef patties accompanied by onion rings and excellent fries, is served with astonishing consistency throughout the country.

Whether you’re an adventurous foodie or simply ravenous after a long day’s sightseeing, the delicious array of gourmet burger’s in Cape Town will surely satisfy your hunger.

Women’s Dress Shoes for Tall Women: Dos and Don’ts

Filed under: Shopping And Product Reviews — Tags: , , — kuru @ 9:13 pm
Kimi Lasser asked:

Many taller women wear high heels that make them tower over the crowd and ultimately cause them to stand out even more. There are, however, perfect shoes for every height.

Kitten heels are one alternative to the average skyscraper heel found under most dresses. Kitten heels can range from half an inch to a full inch. These heels allow for taller women to wear a feminine style heel without adding inches of height.

Other types of women’s dress shoes that are flattering to the statuesque physique are flats. Flats have very small to no heels and are often extremely comfortable. Contrary to popular belief, flats can also come in dressier styles to wear with all types skirts, dresses, and slacks.

The best part of both kitten heels and flats is that after wearing them with an evening outfit, both look excellent with a pair of jeans. Heels can contribute to the high-water effect of jeans that are way too short. Finding long enough pants is a dilemma tall women continually face. This is why small heels can be worn with jeans and other pants without making them look way to short.
With long legs, as often found on tall women, shoes with rounded toes look especially stylish without adding any length to the foot or leg. For the opposite effect, pointed or elongated shoes only add length to those long legs, and end up looking elfish.

Tall women should not add to their height with 4-inch heels but compliment their height with lower heeled yet feminine footwear. This way, they can walk tall and confident instead of self-conscious and hunched over.

Where to Take Single Women on a Date to Really Impress Her

Don Diebel asked:

If you really want to impress a woman and make her fall for you, take her on a unique date she will never forget. By being unique and creative, you’ll stand out among the other guys she’s dated and she will want to be with you again and again.

Just keep taking a woman you’re attracted to on one fun and creative date after another and she’s bound to fall for you and want to make mad passionate love to you. Try it. It works! Here’s a gold mine of creative dating ideas that will make a lasting impression on single women and make them crave to be with you:

1. MUSEUMS - These are great places to take a date no matter what kind of museum they are. My personal favorite is art museums.

2. OBSERVATION DECKS - In most major cities the tallest skyscrapers offer spectacular views of the city from their observation decks open to the public. For breath-taking views, be sure and visit these skyscrapers. Even better are restaurants at the top of skyscrapers that offer scenic views of the city.

3. PADDLE BOAT RIDES - This is a fun thing to do, especially on a hot summer day. A lot of public lakes offer paddleboat rentals.

4. RESORTS - There’s probably a resort area near you to get away from it all for some romance, recreation, and relaxation. They offer a variety of activities such as golf, boating, watersports, tennis, fishing, casual and elegant dining, swimming, lodging, dancing, movies, live entertainment, health spas, etc.

5. ROMANTIC RESTAURANTS - If you really want to make a good impression on your date, take her to a cozy and romantic restaurant. It’s even better if they have a piano bar or live entertainment or soft music, dim lighting, roaring fireplaces, scenic views while you’re eating, etc. So, spice up your love life or impress a date by going to a romantic restaurant.

6. SAILBOAT RENTAL - There’s nothing like the feel of gliding along the water on a sailboat. Learn how to sail and take your date on a sailboat ride that she will never forget.

7. SKATING RINKS - Roller-skating is one of America’s favorite pastimes. It’s a lot of fun whether you’re a beginner or pro. Also, it makes for a fun evening with a date. It’s easy to learn once you get the hang of it.

8. SNOW SKIING - This is an expensive date, especially if you live a great distance from any ski resorts. It’s worth it though for an experience you will take to your grave. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to ski. You can take lessons when you get there and just take the easy slopes. So what if you fall a few times, it’s all in fun.

9. STATE PARKS - Do you have any State Parks near you? If you do, this is the perfect ideal place to go to enjoy the great outdoors. You can go for a daytime date or camp overnight.

10. SURFING - This can be a fun thing to share even if you don’t know how to surf. Just buy a surfboard or rent one. Along the beachfronts you will find places where you can rent a surfboard. Even better, borrow one from a friend. What I like to do when I go on a surfing date is for both of us to get up on the board together and ride a wave. It’s not that easy to do but lots of fun trying.

11. TATAMI ROOMS - These are private rooms at Japanese restaurants where diners sit on the floor for a very unique and romantic dining experience. Call your Japanese restaurants to see if they have these rooms available.

12. TATTOOING - Have you ever heard of a tattoo date? Why not the both of you go to a tattoo parlor and get a tattoo together? If you’re embarrassed by tattoos, you can always have one where it will be hidden by clothes.

13. THEATRE (LIVE) - Most larger towns offer live theatre performances that can be just as good as a Broadway play in New York City. Attending live theatre on a date ranks at the top of the list for things to do on a date in my opinion.

14. WATER PARKS - Most larger cities have water parks that offer water slides, man-made waves, swimming pools, tubing, etc. If you want to have a real fun date, go to a water park and spend the day.

15. WATER SKIING - You can rent a boat with skis at most marinas if you don’t have your own. If your date doesn’t know how to water-ski, she will have a lot of fun trying.

16. WILDLIFE PARKS - Check these out to discover the world of animals. You can tour these wildlife habitats by tram or your own car. I toured a wildlife park in South Dakota with a date and it was one of my most memorable dates. We even had big bears come right up to our car.

17. ZOO - A popular and enjoyable way to spend the day on a date.

Decisions Determine Destiny

Robb Thompson asked:

Success or Failure Is Never Left to Something As Fragile As Chance, It Is Purposely Given The Dignity of Choice

Long-Term Mindset

Over many years of observation, I discovered that all successful people have a long-term perspective. They live life knowing their present actions determine their future situations. They are clear about where they’re heading and map out a plan that takes them there.

Think for a moment how foolish it is for a construction company to begin building a skyscraper without a blueprint or plan of attack. Imagine if the workers were told to build this skyscraper, but were given no specific instructions. You and I both know that skyscraper would never be completed, let alone last.

Unhappy?

Statistics show that nearly 95 percent of individuals between the ages of 45 and 65 are not happy with how their life has turned out. Ninety-five percent have no clear direction or purpose in life. Five percent of successful individuals not only have a definite purpose or objective, but they also have a plan for the attainment of that purpose.

Another important fact that research reveals is this: ninety-five percent of people do not work on developing their skills or minds. The other five percent work daily toward honing their skills and maximizing their potential.

Which category are you in, the ninety-five percent or the five percent? You are a steward over what God has given you. What do you do to ensure you multiply the investments He has made in you? Where are you heading? Where do you want to be at the end of this year? Where do you want to be in 10 years?

These questions are great, but where do you begin? How does an individual go from the stage of intention to stand upon the platform of achievement? And until you clarify the direction of your life, you will remain unhappy about your present and unsure of what the future holds for you.

TAKE ACTION:

1. Do you have a plan for your life?

2. Evaluate your present status in life and list the thoughts and actions that have brought you to the point where you are currently at.

3. Take time to write out a plan for each area of your life (health, relationships, career, spiritual and intellectual).

Upgrading Your Office Appearance, Get Your Workspace Together

Amy Pedersen asked:

As often as we hear the phrase “Don’t judge a book by its cover” we all know that first impressions are critical. And sometimes our appearance is the only first impression we get to give to future clients. We take great care in the morning to dress appropriately; matching the shoes with the belt or picking out that “power tie”. We want our clothing to project our confidence and capabilities. But what does our office say about us? There are numerous reasons to upgrade our office, and buying new office furniture is one of the greatest ways to improve a business’s look.

The first reason to upgrade an office to to revamp a business’s image. Have you ever been to a dumpy restaurant and thought, “Yes, they have the best food in town, but I wish the place were a little nicer?” Have your clients ever thought the same about your office? Could an image upgrade help you gain more clients?

Have you considered ergonomics? Office injuries due to the poor quality of furniture are the second leading cause of employee sick absences, behind only the common cold. Ergonomic chairs use the natural curvature of the body to help relieve the stress placed on the bones and muscles while working in an office. Significantly reducing or eliminating the cost of workers’ comp claim fees due to poor office furniture is a great justification for new furniture.

A new office will boost company morale, lower work related stress, and increase productivity. Respondents to an American Society of Interior Designers survey identified four ways in which a new office look affects productivity: 1) it improves accessibility, 2) increases employee comfort, 3) increases privacy, including limiting noise and distractions, and 4) provides flexibility and customization.

Giving the office a face lift has many advantages; it can give the company a more professional look, increase clientele, ergonomics can reduce stress and work related injuries, boost morale, and increase productivity. Another advantage? It could cost much less than moving to a new location.

Horse Racing System Secrets - Handicapping & Appearance

Filed under: Recreation And Sports — Tags: , — kuru @ 8:17 am
Joey Scaglianetto asked:

Handicapping is a very complex process involving a myriad of possible variables that can overwhelm and frustrate even the advanced horse player.

That being said, I’m going to go over several popular handicapping strategies here that you can use to try and find value in the races. These are certainly not all of the handicapping ideas and strategies, and depending upon your particular favorite strategy, some will be more important to you than others.

First of all, I will outline a few major handicapping strategies that people employ. Horse bettors generally find a niche that they decide they will watch closely and attempt to become an expert in so that they might gain their edge based on that.

It would be nearly impossible to keep track of all handicapping variables and angles at once.

So it makes more sense for the average and even advanced player to find one or two areas of focus that they will spend more time on. Then, the angles and value plays associated with those strategies will be more obvious when they appear to these bettors.

Appearance

Many old-school track enthusiasts tout appearance as one of the main overlooked factors in horse racing today.

The fact it is with online betting and the ability to play the horses without ever going to the race track, bettors are less likely to actually see the horses.

If you are fortunate enough to be at the track and able to see the horses in the paddock and walking ring before the race, then here are some things to look for.

The horse should look healthy. It should have a nice bright shiny coat that lies down evenly. The ears should be pricked.

What you don’t want is a horse that looks unhealthy - a coat looks dull or you can see the horse’s ribs.

You don’t want to see a lot of sweat - especially kidney sweat between the flanks. You also do not want a horse that seems overly nervous, unruly or out of control.

Ruther Alan asked:

So you are looking for a job and like hundreds others you also have your resume ready. The main appearance of a particular resume really matters and in this article we shall discuss some of these related points. In general the complete appearance of the resume assumes much importance.

It is now more than accepted a fact that a sloppy or hasty looking resume is sure to create a bad impression. Such an appearance might also just weaken your chances of getting through a job interview. The first and the foremost thing that an employer would look at is the kind of appearance a person’s job biodata carries. There are more than a few different things and all of which can easily be done so as to boost the entire appearance of the resume.

First among all these factors of appearance is the kind of paper that is used and on which all of your qualifications, knowledge and other factors are printed on. There are several different kinds of paper available in the market and we are not just talking about regular typing paper. You need to be a little innovative and then you need to go for colored paper.

Colors like brown, off-white, or gray should be perfect and provide the resume with a proper basic appearance. You need to shop for a better grade of paper. These are all available in the market and a little browsing would surely help. You can try the local store that provides office supply. You also need to perfectly inspect various types of writing paper. A better looking as will as a more expensive grade of paper works all the time.

The proper quality of the material which is typed onto the resume needs to be checked as well. It is advised that one shouldn’t use any type of low quality typewriter in order to type the resume. In case it’s the typewriter then you need to have it upgraded and it should be kept in mind that the writing on the resume should look good. This means that whatever is typed in has to be clean and must have smart looking letters. You also have the option of properly typesetting it.

There is always a professional typesetter who can use the file on which your resume is stored. You can also check out laser printers that have the power to produce a proper grade of documents on typeset. There is yet another alternative which is to locate a locally run word processing service center and ask them to typeset the resume on your behalf.

The master copy of the resume can also be typeset in order to make additional copies. However you need to be certain on a few things like having a high end copying machine or you might just end up with resumes that have a bad appearance.

Remember at the end of the day, a person’s resume needs to have an appearance that puts it right in front of any possible competition thereby getting your job done, quite literally!

Kolkata Real Estate - From City of Palaces to City of Skyscrapers

George Gonigal asked:

Kolkata, famous as the City of Palaces, is fast shedding its image of being a city of heritage buildings. Today it boasts of a dozen of skyscraping buildings, no less than its counterpart metropolitans of Mumbai and Delhi.

The picture becomes especially exciting when these buildings are developed for the purpose of housing. “Real estate can be developed in two ways: vertically and horizontally. Looking at the soaring land prices, it is not feasible for developers to expand horizontally around the city. That’s why, vertical development makes sense for developers, and to the users as well, said a senior official of a Kolkata-based real estate group.

As for building permissions and approvals, the city authorities have not only expressed willingness but also come up on its own to promote the concept. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation, recently, called for an expression of interest for the construction of a 50-storeyed residential property on Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. The proposed building would be the tallest one in India.

By far Unitech Heights, with 40 storeys, in South City is the tallest building in Kolkata’s residential real estate. Hiland Park and Akankha Krishnachura follow Unitech Heights with their 28 storey residential skyscrapers. Ideal Heights near Sealdah and Sankalp at New Town make an ideal preposition for those looking for luxurious living. These 11-24 story buildings group as many as 16 towers and offer facilities like wi-fi, health clubs, auditoriums, conference room and swimming pools surrounded by lush-green parks.

Real estate developers meanwhile are enthused with the response high-rise buildings have generated in Kolkata. Tall buildings represent grandeur and attract High Networth Individuals and investors. According to property brokers, investors who have global exposure seek properties that are comparable with those in developed countries of the US and Europe.

Skin Care - How Vitamins Influence The Skin’s Appearance

Filed under: Health And Fitness — Tags: , — kuru @ 11:38 pm
David Yu asked:

It is basic knowledge that of all the food and nutrients that we consume that vitamins have by far the greatest impact on the health and appearance of our skins. Generally, good health is reflected in our skin - even conventional Chinese medicines and other more traditional practices judge our health through the appearance of our skin. A healthy skin is therefore reflective of a good diet. This is especially true if you consider that greasy and oily foods tend to aggravate the onset of acne and simple breakouts. The role of vitamins in our diet does not go unnoticed when it relates to our skin’s appearance and likewise its health. Basically, without the essential skin vitamins, the skin tends to take on an appearance of dryness and dullness.

Vitamin A is commonly associated with good skin because of its abilities as a good anti-oxidant. However, Vitamin A itself is the general term given to a group of molecules (alcohols and aldehydes) that can exist in either form under given circumstances. Carotenoids and retinol are other popular names for Vitamin A. It is one form of the carotenoid structure in particular (beta-carotene) that gives the group its anti-oxidant properties. An anti-oxidant is simply a molecule that can remove radical scavengers along the skin’s surface and thus help in the maintenance of youthful vibrant skin. In general, radicals are naturally produced by the body during is metabolism, but these radicals are highly reactive and have the tendency of attacking the skin’s cells - in particular being responsible for early signs of aging and wrinkles. As you could probably guess from the name carotenoid, carrots are among the food types rich in Vitamin A.

Vitamin B (in particular Vitamin B2 or riboflavin) too has the similar function of Vitamin A in terms of healthy skin promotion, only instead of itself being an anti-oxidant it is the catalyst for the reaction which produces anti-oxidants within the body. As a catalyst, its job is the speed up the rate at which the anti-oxidant is produced by creating the ideal conditions for the reaction within the body.

Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is also an anti-oxidant, and is in fact one of the better known and better recognized anti-oxidants around today. But fighting off the harmful free-radicals is not the only function of Vitamin C - it is one of the essential components for the production of collagen tissues. Collagen is in fact the stuff that makes up our skin, so collagen regeneration means younger-looking and healthier skins.

Vitamin D is quite unlike all the other vitamins involved in healthy skin appearance, for it is one that is responsible for the healthy tan of the skin. Vitamin D is produced naturally by the skin when exposed to sunlight, and is the reason for the healthy glow observed in the skin after brief exposures to the sun.

Finally, Vitamin E provides the function of an anti-oxidant. It is however one of the most powerful anti-oxidants used by the body in its constant battle against free-radicals.
